ABOUT THE SEMINAR:

Corporate governance is the set of processes, customs, policies, laws, and institutions affecting the way a corporation (or company) is directed, administered or controlled. Corporate governance also includes the relationships among the many stakeholders involved and the goals for which the corporation is governed. The principal stakeholders are the shareholders, the board of directors, employees, customers, creditors, suppliers, and the community at large.

There has been renewed interest in the corporate governance practices of modern corporations since 2001, particularly due to the high-profile collapses of a number of large U.S. firms such as Enron Corporation and MCI Inc. (formerly WorldCom). In 2002, the U.S. federal government passed the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, intending to restore public confidence in corporate governance. Importance of IT in corporate governance needs to be given more emphasis and thrust.

The theme e-corporate governance is so chosen that the importance IT or the role of IT in ensuring the accountability of all the stake holders in upbringing the corporation would be emphasized. There are many ways by using many Software this can be easily addressed. Already some corporations must be using the IT in their corporations to address corporate governance directly or indirectly. This conference is meant to bring all of them to bring on to the common platform and to exchange their ideas. Further, this seminar provide platform to accelerate or aid in better implementation of IT in corporate governance.
